Oilfield services contractor Petrofac has won a decommissioning contract with Tullow Oil worth approximately £12.2m.
The firm will act as a well operator for the Thames decommissioning project in the Southern North Sea and will be responsible for plugging and abandoning three subsea wells.
Petrofac will also be responsible for planning, management of sub-contractors and provision of a jack-up rig.
The Thames platform is located around 44 miles north-east of Winterton-on-Sea on England’s eastern coast.
