As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to address legacy pollution, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has awarded a contract and the first task order for the decommissioning of eight orphaned pipelines in the Matagorda Island lease area, approximately 12 miles off the Texas coast.

Today, Atlantic Shores Offshore announced that it has received Construction and Operations Plan (COP) approvals from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for Atlantic Shores Projects 1 and 2, which combined will generate enough renewable energy to serve more than 1 million New Jersey homes.

Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables, a Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) portfolio company, are now joint venture partners in the South Fork Wind and Revolution Wind offshore wind farms, following GIP’s acquisition of Eversource Energy’s 50-percent ownership share in the two Northeast projects.

Dominion Energy secures lease area from BOEM

Virginia Electric and Power Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dominion Energy, secured the rights for a 176,505-acre lease area off the coast of Virginia Beach, adjacent and to the East of where the company’s 2.6-gigawatt Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind is currently under construction.
