GS Entec, based in Ulsan South Korea, will supply 37 monopiles for the 504-megawatt Taean offshore wind farm off the coast of Taean, South Chungcheong Province.

Under a contract signed Wednesday at Taean Wind Power’s Seoul headquarters, GS Entec will begin production in July 2027 and complete deliveries by the end of August 2028.
The Taean offshore wind project is being jointly developed by Singapore-based renewable energy developer Vena Energy, Danish infrastructure investor Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Korea Western Power.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028 and finish in 2030. Once completed, the farm is expected to power about 300,000 households for a year.
GS Entec entered the monopile business in 2022 through a strategic technology partnership with Dutch company Sif. It supplied all 64 monopiles for the Yeonggwang Nakwol offshore wind project in 2023 and has since secured the Taean project.
The company is one of the few in South Korea with experience mass-producing and delivering large monopiles from a single domestic plant.
