Earlier this week, Manon van Beek, the CEO of TenneT, passed on the baton to Frans Everts after eight remarkable years in the role.
It was a wonderful and well-deserved, heartfelt farewell. Filled with pride, ambition and a touch of wistfulness. It also brought Manon van Beek a very special and unexpected honour: a royal decoration.
Bringing together different worlds and perspectives has always been important to Van Beek: listening to different views, connecting people and interests, and finding a way forward together.
Manon van Beek said that she has every confidence in Frans Everts: “The energy transition is far from complete. The challenge is greater and more urgent than ever. What gives me confidence are the people working on it – within TenneT and far beyond. People who cross boundaries, bring different interests together and continue to seek out what is possible, despite all the complexity.”
