Appointment

The Supervisory Board of TenneT Holding has nominated Frans Everts as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chair of the Executive Board of TenneT Holding and TenneT Netherlands.

The Ministry of Finance, as shareholder, has adopted this nomination and appointed Everts effective 1 November 2026 for a period of four years.

The nomination follows a careful and extensive selection process led by the Remuneration and Appointment Committee of the Supervisory Board. During this process, the Works Council issued a positive advice.

Anja Mutsaers, Chair of the Supervisory Board: “As a key player at the heart of Europe’s energy transition, TenneT is committed to the successful delivery of its strategy to help build a secure and sustainable energy future. Meeting the challenges ahead requires strong strategic leadership, execution power and close collaboration with partners across Europe. We are convinced that Frans Everts, with his extensive experience in the energy sector and proven ability to lead large organisations in complex and rapidly evolving environments, is the right person to lead TenneT through its next phase.”

His experience with public visibility and large-scale investment programmes aligns closely with the challenges TenneT faces. Over the course of his career at Shell, Frans Everts has gained more than 37 years of experience in international energy, operational and commercial environments. In his current role, he leads Shell’s organisation in the Netherlands and has deep expertise in many aspects of the energy transition.

Frans Everts: ”I am honoured by the nomination to become CEO of TenneT. TenneT plays a crucial role in the energy transition in the Netherlands and Germany. I look forward to working together with colleagues and stakeholders to build a future-proof and affordable energy system.”

To ensure continuity, the Supervisory Board is pleased that Manon van Beek will remain CEO until her successor takes up the role.
