Lamprell has signed an agreement with International Maritime Industries (IMI) to fabricate several offshore structures.

The agreement includes a production platform and jackets for an offshore EPCI project the contractor is delivering.

Fabrication will take place at IMI’s yard in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. The company said it is the first time the facility will build production platforms and jackets. Lamprell is a founding shareholder in IMI, alongside Aramco, Bahri and Hyundai Heavy Industries.

Ian Prescott, CEO of Lamprell, said: “IMI is an important strategic partner for Lamprell, and as a founding shareholder, we are proud to support the continued development of its yard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Eng. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, CEO of IMI, said: “This agreement is a defining step in IMI’s journey beyond shipbuilding.”
