In a personal LinkedIn post, Ørsted CEO Rasmus Errboe looks back with satisfaction on his recent trip to South Korea.
He returned to Denmark with a reaffirmed belief in the country’s significant long-term potential for offshore wind.
Errboe met government officials, industry representatives, and other key stakeholders in Korea, where Ørsted is developing the 1.47 GW Incheon Offshore Wind projects, which will be able to produce enough electricity to power around 1.4 million Korean homes.
From his conversations, Korea’s continued commitment to expanding renewable energy is clear.
Errboe: “I’ve been impressed to see first-hand the industrial capabilities Korea has built through Ørsted’s collaboration with the local supply chain over more than a decade. Our partnerships have so far led to investments of approximately KRW 3.5 trillion (more than €2 billion) with Korean companies over the past ten years. This gives me confidence that Korea can play an even greater role in the global offshore wind supply chain.”
