EPCI Contract
McDermott has secured a major engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from ADNOC for work to increase gas recovery and production at the Umm Shaif field.
Valued at over $1 billion, the contract is for Package 4 of the Umm Shaif Integrated Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting (SPB) Project.
This project is a critical component of the Umm Shaif Long Term Development Plan (LTDP) and is designed to maximise gas recovery and production from the field.
Under the terms of the contract, McDermott and its consortium partner, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan (QMW), will be responsible for the entire EPCI scope of a new surface pressure boosting facility.
This includes the construction and installation of a jacket and topside, as well as associated brownfield modifications.
Upon completion, the topside will be one of the heaviest offshore modules ever installed in the Middle East.
Engineering and project management activities will be led from McDermott’s offices in the United Arab Emirates. Fabrication will be carried out at QMW, McDermott’s joint venture fabrication yard in Qingdao, China.
