Detached Blade
Work at EnBW’s 960MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the German part of the North Sea has been partially suspended due to a detached Vestas blade.
The blade broke loose from one of the turbines in late July.
During EnBW’s analyst call last Friday, Deputy CEO and CFO Thomas Kusterer said that ‘certain activities have been temporarily paused as a precaution’.
EnBW is currently prohibited from carrying out work on the affected turbine or blades from the same production site. However, Kustere emphasised that the basic commissioning of the wind farm is progressing well and continues.
The 960 MW project comprises 64 of Vestas’ flagship 15 MW V236 turbines. Last year, He Dreiht became the first project to successfully commission a V236 turbine.
