Installation

OW Ocean Winds has installed the first turbine at the Éoliennes en Mer Dieppe Le Tréport (EMDT) offshore wind farm off the coast of northern France.

The offshore substation is already in place, and the first turbine is expected to begin generating electricity within weeks as units are connected to the grid one by one.

The offshore installation is carried out by Jan De Nul Group and DEME Group, with multiple Channel and North Sea ports supporting logistics.

The wind farm will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines

The EMDT installation follows the completion of the Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier offshore wind farm and the Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion floating wind project in 2026. This reflects France’s accelerating build-out of offshore wind.
