Agalas takes delivery of cable layer Cecon Vigor from Sefine

Norwegian shipowner Agalas has taken delivery of the 99.90-metre cable lay support vessel Cecon Vigor from Sefine Shipyard in Türkiye.

The vessel was delivered on May 5 and is now sailing under the Norwegian flag.

Agalas said the crew was onboard and preparing the ship for its homebound voyage and the next phase with Norwegian offshore contractor Cecon Contracting. 

Cecon Vigor is a newbuild cable lay support vessel with a beam of 21 metres, draft of 6.1 metres, a 2,650-tonne cable tank, a 70-tonne crane and 1,020 square metres of deck space. 

The vessel was designed by Norway’s NSK Ship Design and has methanol/diesel fuel capability, diesel-electric propulsion, battery support and DNV class. Sefine also lists capacity for 100 people including operational crew, a 1,372-kWh battery system and a dynamic positioning system.

Sefine Shipyard is a Turkish shipbuilding and repair yard carrying out newbuilding and conversion projects for international customers.
