Wind Energy – Giant Tender
The French Minister for Energy, Maud Bregeon, recently announced to combine the AO9 and A10 tender rounds into one giant 10 GW tender, including approximately 5 GW dedicated to floating wind.

It is a major vote of confidence in the future of floating wind in France.
The announcement came amid a global energy crisis highlighting the need to build European energy independence.
Asset owner and co-developer BW Ideol warmly welcomed the announcements and CEO Paul De La Gueriviere commented: “We are particularly encouraged by the Minister’s clear statement that priority will be given to components manufactured in Europe and the expected funding for the Fos-sur-Mer port extension. This strongly reinforces our long-standing ambition for a sovereign, resilient and independent floating wind sector, anchored in domestic industrial capabilities.”
“This announcement provides the clear pipeline and visibility on volumes that the entire industry has been calling for. It creates an obligation for BW Ideol and our industry to be successful in realizing our strategic vision of a dedicated factory in Fos-sur-Mer to deliver the more than 200 floating foundations needed to deliver the pipeline of projects to be awarded in the Mediterranean Sea.”
