Monday, December 30 2024

Wind Energy – France

The French Ministry of Industry and Energy announced yesterday the winners of the floating wind farm tender in the Mediterranean (AO6).

Winners are: OW Ocean Winds – Banque des Territoires and EDF Renouvelables – Maple Power, reportedly achieving a price of €85.90/MWh, lower than the Pennavel project in Brittany.

Ocean Winds won the concession near Port-la-Nouvelle, while EDF Renewables secured the one near Fos-sur-Mer.

Both projects will have a capacity of 250 MW and be located over 25 kilometers offshore. Out of 13 prequalified participants, only five bids were submitted.
