Germany’s largest offshore wind farm

Wind Energy – First Electricity

Yesterday evening, the first wind turbine of the EnBW He Dreiht offshore wind farm generated its first kilowatt-hour of electricity and fed it into the grid.

In the coming weeks, more turbines will gradually follow.

He Dreiht is a world premiere in technology: It’s the first time the largest available 15 MW wind turbine from Vestas is being used. Just one rotor rotation can power four households for an entire day.

With a total capacity of 960 MW, He Dreiht is Germany’s largest offshore wind farm. It’s subsidy-free and can meet the electricity needs of approximately 1.1 million households.
