Wind Energy – Cable Installation
Ealier this week Prysmian announced the completion of the cable connection of the DolWin5 project!
Started in 2019, DolWin5 marks a major milestone for Prysmian and the offshore wind industry. The 320 kV HVDC interconnector will transfer Green Energy from the Borkum Riffgrund 3 windpark in the German North Sea to the converter station of Emden/East.
This achievement is particularly special because DolWin5 is the first project where Prysmian executed the full submarine cable installation in-house, including the deployment of our Barbarossa barge in the Wadden Sea – a solution designed to minimize environmental impact while ensuring operational excellence.
