Saturday, January 13 2024

General – Zakum Cluster

On January 9, Prysmian met Lightning Project for Offshore Electrification Customers and Stakeholders at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal to celebrate the start of cable laying operations of the Zakum Cluster connection between Al Mirfa and Al Ghallan Island.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the attendees to visit Prysmian’s most advanced cable laying vessel, Leonardo da Vinci, that will perform the deeper water cable lay operations for the Zakum Cluster.

Lightning Project, consisting of new submarine power links to connect Offshore facilities to Abu Dhabi’s Onshore Grid, will accelerate the UAE’s decarbonization objectives, leveraging on clean energy sources to electrify key parts of ADNOC’s Offshore Operations.
