Fossil Energy – Brazil
Baker Hughes has signed a multi-year contract with Petrobras to extend the deployment of a pair of well stimulation support vessels (WSSV) to help optimise oil and natural gas production offshore Brazil.
Baker Hughes said Petrobras has agreed to charter the BJ Blue Marlin and Blue Orca vessels, with the contracts including the provision of associated chemicals and services.
“Stimulation vessels are critical for optimising production and limiting costly downtime in offshore fields,” said Baker Hughes oilfield services and equipment executive vice president Amerino Gatti.
The BJ Blue Marlin and Blue Orca are currently on hire with Petrobras until April 2027, meaning that the new contracts will keep the vessels employed in Brazil until mid-2032.
Both vessels will deliver advanced chemical treatments to stimulate wells, maximising production in both brownfield and greenfield developments across multiple basins in Brazil.
