Four offshore wind projects South Korea

Wind Energy – Fixed Bottom

South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) has awarded four offshore wind projects capacity totaling 689 MW.

The winning projects include:

• Southwest 2 – 400 MW – Korea Offshore Wind Power

• Handong-Pyeongdae – 100 MW – Jeju Energy & Korea East-West Power

• Dadaepo – 99 MW – Korea Southern Power & Corio

• Aphae – 80 MW – CGO, Korea Electric Power, & Hyundai

All selected projects are fixed-bottom and will use 10 MW Doosan turbines, except Southwest 2, which has said they will deploy 10 MW turbines produced domestically.
