On the morning of August 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the ceremony to attach the project’s signboard and welcome the first oil flow from Kinh Ngu Trang – Kinh Ngu Trang Nam (KNT-KNTN) field, Block 09-2/09 of the Vietnam – Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro.
Putting the field into commercial exploitation on schedule contributes to maintaining and increasing production output, consolidating Vietsovpetro’s core role in the value chain of oil and gas exploration and exploitation in Vietnam, contributing to the goal of ensuring national energy security and affirming sovereignty at sea through strategic oil and gas cooperation in the Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the event of receiving the first oil flow from the KNT-KNTN field, along with the naming ceremony of the PV Drilling 8 jack-up rig, are new steps forward, new achievements of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), Vietsovpetro, member companies and partners, achieved right on the occasion of the whole country competing to make achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
