Power on at China’s most distant offshore wind farm

China Three Gorges Asia Africa Limited (CTGAAL) has now delivered the first power from its 800 MW wind project off the coast of Dafeng, 85,5 km offshore.

Despite big waves and tough weather, over 1,000 workers pushed through to get the first turbines spinning on 4 July.

Once complete by year-end, the wind farm will have 98 turbines and generate enough green energy to power 1.1 million homes every year.
