Boka’s Forte currently active in Taiwan

Wind Energy – Transport

For the development of the 294.5 MW offshore wind farm TPC2, Boka’s semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Forte transports twenty pinpiles for its first voyage.

These piles – varying in length between 62 and 90 meters long – serve in the future wind farm as foundations for the four-legged jackets, which will be installed in a later phase.

To get the 20 pin piles to their installation site in one go, the Forte made optimal use of its 177-meter-long deck. In two rows the pin piles were brought aboard side by side, and on the aft deck a second tier was even placed on top of the first row of pin piles.

As a result, the Forte sailed through the Taiwan Strait like a fully loaded double-decker.

In addition to transporting the twenty pin piles, Boskalis is also involved in installing the cable for the TPC2 offshore wind farm.

Cable-laying vessel Ndurance is installing two export cables with a total length of 42.5 kilometers, connecting the offshore windfarm to the Taiwanese grid.
