Wind Energy – Taiwan
The WindTAIWAN Magazine announced that Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE) has commissioned local supplier Century Wind Power (CWP) to coordinate the supply of substructure foundation components for its Formosa 4 project.
This collaboration represents Synera Renewable Energy’s concrete commitment to Taiwan’s offshore wind localization policy, while demonstrating the team’s ability to ensure project progress and quality alongside the deepening and integration of both local and international supply chain capabilities.
Under the contract, CWP will undertake the substructure foundation project and will be responsible for supplying 35 jacket-type underwater foundations required for Formosa 4 to support successful grid connection.
During this period, the company will not only accumulate local manufacturing capacity but also integrate domestic and international supply chain resources, fully leveraging the dual advantages of local collaboration and global connectivity.
Formosa 4 is Synera Renewable Energy’s third offshore wind farm development in Taiwan, located off the coast of Miaoli.
It officially received a 495 MW grid connection capacity allocation from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the first round of the third phase of offshore wind zonal development selection at the end of 2022.
It obtained its development permit at the end of 2024, becoming the first development project among all allocated capacity projects in the same period to achieve significant related milestones.
