Two MoUs for Baker Hughes

Saturday, June 7 2025

General – Ukraine

This week in Brussels Baker Hughes signed two strategic MoUs with Ukrainian energy company Nadra, focused on geothermal energy and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Signed in the presence, and under the leadership, of Ukraine’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Svitlana Grynchuk, these agreements mark a bold step forward in advancing low-carbon solutions in Ukraine’s energy transition.

• Geothermal offers a resilient, decentralized source of clean heat and power, and is a potentially crucial contributor to Ukraine’s energy security. It might also provide an additional source of critical minerals.

• CCS could play an essential role in decarbonizing Ukraine’s industrial and power sectors, while supporting economic growth.

With Baker Hughes’ decades of global experience and our full-stack subsurface-to-surface capabilities in both geothermal and CCS, we’re ready to support Ukraine in turning its climate ambition into action.
