Fossil Energy – CNOOC

China’s CNOOC has kicked off production at its Wenchang 9-7 field in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, achieving what it describes as a zero flaring operation through an integrated gas recovery network.

The project marks a major step in the company’s push for cleaner offshore energy development in the South China Sea.

In water depths of 120 metres, the field is developed via a new drilling and production platform tied back to existing infrastructure.
