IQIP delivers two newly built external pile gripper tools

General – EPGT

IQIP announced the delivery of two newly built External Pile Gripper Tools (EPGTs) to McDermott for use in an offshore natural gas field project in Australia.

Designed for 3.5m outer diameter primary piles, these EPGTs will be suspended below the hang-off module on our customer’s vessel.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 1,000 metric tons, they will play a crucial role in upending operations, rotating the primary pile from a horizontal position around the EPGT until it reaches a vertical position.

IQIP managed the entire project scope – from project management and engineering to procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing – all conducted at our Sliedrecht facility in the Netherlands.

The equipment departed Sliedrecht on February 6, making its way to Batam, Indonesia, for mobilization.
