Another milestone for offshore wind in Japan!

Wind Energy – Japan

JERA Co. has been selected to develop a new offshore wind project in the Sea of Japan.

The project, off the coast of the Aomori Prefecture, will be one of the largest in Japan with a planned capacity of 615MW.

The project will be developed by a consortium of JERA, Tohoku Electric Power Co Inc and Green Power Investment (GPI), the Japanese renewable energy developer we own jointly with NTT Anode Energy.

This will be the third Japanese offshore wind project JERA Group has developed, with the Ishikari Bay site inaugurated earlier this year and the Katagami Bay site in development, cementing our position as a leader in the country’s offshore wind industry.
