Parkwind welcomes the announcement of the Tasmanian Bass Strait offshore wind zone off the coast of Northern Tasmania, declared by the Federal Minister of Energy and Climate Change, Hon. Chris Bowen MP, for feasibility license applications.

“We are excited to see the Tasmanian Bass Strait zone announced by the Federal Minister of Energy and Climate Change.

Bass Strait region has some of the best wind resources in the world, and with both State and Federal Governments’ support, the area around Bell Bay in Northern Tasmania could become a clean fuel export hub powered by offshore and onshore renewables and firmed by Tasmania’s hydroelectricity generation”, said Parkwind Australia’s Country Manager, Anil Chanana.

The announcement was made at TasPorts’ Bell Bay, joined by Hon. Chris Bowen MP, Tasmanian Minister nicholas duigan, Professor Emma Lee, TasRex CEO Bess Clark, and Parkwind’s Anil Chanana (pictured) marking this milestone moment for renewables in Australia!
