General – New Service Centre

JDR Cables has announced a strategic expansion into Brazil, opening a new service centre in Macaé, located in Rio de Janeiro.

The service centre began operations in Q3 2024, providing clients with in-country technical and service support for umbilicals and related equipment, including asset management, repairs and maintenance, and supply of products such as hydraulic jumpers.

JDR has chosen Macaé to leverage the city’s robust energy infrastructure and skilled workforce. The service centre will commence operations with a local team of experienced Oil & Gas professionals as part of JDR’s regional growth strategy. The facility’s footprint covers 11,265m2, allowing the business to provide a range of services including the management, repair and maintenance of equipment, as well as offshore services, and the assembly and testing of hose jumpers.

The centre will be led by locally based Alex Grosso as Operational Manager. A key element of JDR’s strategy is focused on fostering local talent and content, with all skilled employees being locally based. JDR’s existing facility in Houston will also provide support to the Macaé centre through initial training and operational guidance.
