Fossil Energy – Suction Pile Technology
GDT Offshore from Mexico announced the successful completion of the first Bottom Base Frame structure at Sonda de Campeche Offshore Mexico.
This project is ‘spearhead’ in Mexico. Having a strategic alliance with SPT Offshore Daniel Salas Díaz of GDT says this is the fist production platform installed with suction pile technology as a foundation system; the installation of the BBF took just two hours of SPU’s operation to reach the 10 m design penetration.
In the next few weeks Pemex will complete the installation of the platform, hook up and commissioning to continue the exploitation of the POKCHÉ offshore oil field.
