Another decommissioning project in Southern North Sea

Monday, January 29 2024

Fossil Energy – Decommissioning

After an intensive engineering and preparation phase, AF Offshore Decom, as main contractor, has successfully concluded another Removal Campaign for a decommissioning project in the Southern North Sea.

Key activities carried out by our team during the campaign included final prep work before subsea cutting and dredging, rigging and readying the topsides and jackets for secure lifting by our chosen vessel partner, DEME Group, and its fit for purpose jack-up, Apollo.

Mobilising during the Christmas season and carrying out weather-sensitive removal work in January is uncommon. However, with the appropriate vessel, AF Offshore Decom’s Inhouse heavy lift equipment and a team equipped with weather appropriate clothing and the right mindset, our commitment to clearing up the past remains uninterrupted even during the winter season.
