Wind Energy – Acquisition Norfolk
RWE Offshore Wind will acquire the Norfolk 4.2-gigawatt UK offshore wind development portfolio from Vattenfall.
With the acquisition of the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone portfolio, RWE is taking over three well-advanced offshore wind projects.
After 13 years of development, the projects have already secured seabed rights, grid connections and key permits, as well as advanced procurement of key components.
The next milestone in the development of the Norfolk Vanguard East and West projects is to secure a Contract for Difference (CfD) in one of the upcoming auction rounds. In addition, RWE will resume the development of the Norfolk Boreas project, which was previously halted.
