Wind Energy – Lithuania
The Lithuanian Wind Power Association (LVEA) announced that the tender for the right to develop the second 700 MW offshore wind park in the Baltic Sea will be launched on 15 of January 2024.
Under the terms of the tender, the developer will be able to offer to develop the park with or without public support, and to compete for the amount of support requested – for all or part of the energy produced.
For the second offshore wind park tender, the Ministry of Energy is carrying out preparatory work:
– the development plan for the offshore area for the development of renewable energy facilities has been approved;
– the development plan for the connection of the wind farms to the onshore grid is being prepared;
– the environmental impact assessment report for the offshore wind farm is being prepared
– the offshore area for the development of the offshore wind park is subjected to bottom geophysical and geotechnical surveys and measurements of the wind speeds and other hydrometeorological parameters.
The size of the Baltic Sea area devoted to the park is approximately 136 km2. It will be located approximately 30 kilometers from the coast.
