Wind Energy – Monopile Facility

CNOOD Wenchong Heavy Industries (CWHI) recently announced the final investment decision on one of the world’s largest, state of the art XXXL monopile facilities located in Qinzhou Port, Guangxi, China.

The investment in the mega facility demonstrates CWHI’s ongoing commitment to the offshore wind sectors growing demand.

The new facility has an annual production capacity of 144 XXXL mQonopiles (maximum diameter of 15 meters and a maximum weight of 4,500 tons) delivered via 8 offshore wind power XXXL Mono-pile foundation production lines, part of the largest steel structure workshop in China (at 370 meters long, 54 meters high and 39 meters wide).

Full annual production capacity will be reached upon completion of Phase 2, currently underway, and due to conclude in December.

Additional features include a 307 meter long, 12 meter-deep quayside, capable of accommodating  vessels up to and including 100,000 ton ships, and a 86,000m2 storage area with load bearing capacity of 20T/m2.
