Saturday, November 12 2022

Wind Energy – Ireland

A new subsidiary company, Bore Array, has been established by the Norwegian state-owned renewable energy giant, Statkraft, in order to target the development of a new offshore wind farm off the South East coast of Ireland.

A detailed report by The Currency looked at the huge investment being made in Ireland by Statkraft. Part of that report confirmed that the establishment of Bore Array Ltd is being used to target the development of a new offshore wind farm in addition to Statkraft’s more advanced North Irish Sea Array.

It has been confirmed that the Bore Array development lies in the Irish sea off the South East coast.

The Currency also report that the Bore Array will have an estimated capacity of 500MW which would bring it in line with the first phase of the North Irish Sea Array project.

Statkraft are a key player in the Irish solar and renewables market with steady pipeline of ambitious projects coming on stream.
