Wind Energy – Fecamp France
On July 31, Heerema Marine Contractors’ Sleipnir reached EDF’s Fécamp wind farm offshore France, to install 71 concrete gravity-based foundations.
This will be Sleipnir’s first foundation installation campaign.
Saipem 7000 was previously understood to be employed for the campaign, but the vessel suffered an incident in April, causing a delay in its work schedule on SSE Renewables’ Seagreen 1.
Sleipnir is the largest crane semi-submersible in the world, with two Huisman cranes each with 10,000 ton lifting capacity.
After Saint-Brieuc and Saint-Nazaire, the 497 MW Fécamp is the third French OWF to enter construction. All three projects are slated for commissioning next year.
