Great offshore wind potential Brazil

Wind energy – Brazil

A recent study by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) places Brazil as one of the greatest potentials for offshore wind power generation in the world.

The potential for wind power generation in Brazil is estimated at about 500 gigawatts (GW) only for onshore installations (on land, on the mainland, off sea), according to the Brazilian Wind Energy Association, enough energy to meet three times the current energy demand in Brazil.
