MoU between Brazil and Denmark

Wind energy – MoU

Brazil and Denmark signed today an MoU to collaborate on the development of offshore wind energy.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Embassy of Denmark in Brazil and Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL.

“Brazil has enormous potential to expand wind energy production, thus strengthening a clean energy matrix and at the same time diversifying it. For Denmark, it will be gratifying to share knowledge about how we consolidate the wind energy sector,” said ambassador Nicolai Prytz.

Denmark was the first country in the world to install an offshore wind farm, the Vindeby wind farm in the Lolland region opened in 1991. Currently, more than a third of Danish electricity production comes from wind turbines.
