TenneT appointed Primo Marine from Germany to lead an industry research project destined to set a new standard for future 2GW subsea export cable installation and burial.
This project is part of a large program (the 2 GW Program) – for both The Netherlands and Germany – and focusses on the installation process of a large bundle of cables.
To head a group of industry players, using lessons learnt in subsea cable installation from previous projects, identifying knowledge gaps and thinking ahead of what is needed in coming projects, is the goal.
TenneT is aiming to realize a leap in successful subsea cable installation and burial, achieving safe and cost-effective construction and minimizing risk to the cable.
