Floating power

Seatrium and Karpowership have signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue a joint venture developing floating power and infrastructure solutions in Singapore, with potential expansion across Southeast Asia.

Announced on 27 October at Singapore International Energy Week 2026, the agreement covers potential projects including Powerships, floating data centres, turbine-based or hybrid vessels and floating nuclear solutions.

The proposed venture would combine development, financing, engineering, construction and operations. The companies aim to explore rapidly deployable generation for additional supply, contingency power and critical infrastructure, including data centres.

Formation of the joint venture remains subject to definitive agreements and approvals. No investment value, generation capacity, or project schedule was announced.
