Fossil Energy

Eni has recently signed binding agreements to sell stakes in some Indonesian offshore assets operated by Searah.

Search is its 50:50 joint venture with Malaysia’s national oil company Petronas.

Eni confirmed it would sell for an undisclosed sum its 10% interest in the East Sepinggan, North Ganal and Rapak PSCs in the Kutei basin offshore East Kalimantan to Pertamina.

Indonesia’s national energy company Pertamina, the country’s largest oil and gas producer, plays a strategic role in East Kalimantan’s energy infrastructure and upstream gas network.

These blocks include the producing Merakes and East Merakes gas fields, plus the Geng North and Gehem gas discoveries, which are being developed through the Kutei North Hub project that the Jakarta administration has designated a National Strategic Project.

Meanwhile, Eni has agreed to sell its 10% stake in the West Ganal, East Ganal, Ganal and Muara Bakau PSCs to Indonesian independent Medco Energi.

These assets include the producing Jangkrik field; the Maha, Gendalo and Gandang gas fields that form the Kutei South Hub project; and the recently announced Geliga giant gas discovery.
