Turbine Installation

Zeevonk has awarded DEME Group the contract to transport and install the wind turbines for Phase I.

This follows the foundation contract awarded to DEME earlier this year.

Under the new agreement, DEME will transport and install 69 high-capacity wind turbines.

Work will be carried out by the next-generation vessel Norse Energi. This vessel can carry multiple turbines per trip, ensuring faster execution. It also runs on a hybrid power system with batteries, lowering fuel consumption and emissions during operations.

Phase I will have an installed capacity of around 1 GW. This will boost the Dutch renewable power supply and strengthen Europe’s energy independence. Mobilisation begins in 2028, with installation following shortly after.

Target completion is set for 2029, subject to a final investment decision.

Zeevonk is a joint venture between Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
