New milestone for NBIM fund investments

Sunday, October 4 2026

CIP Flagship

NBIM has committed EUR 1.2 billion to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ sixth flagship fund, CI VI, following its EUR 900 million investment in CI V in 2024.

Renewable energy markets move at different speeds across regions. Successful projects depend on the right combination of permits, financing, power prices, grid access and supply-chain conditions — making local presence, experience and timing critical.

CIP brings a strong global development track record and deep expertise in taking renewable energy projects from early-stage development through to operation.

CI VI will focus primarily on renewable electricity generation and energy storage across OECD markets in North America, Western Europe and Asia-Pacific.

This latest commitment strengthens NBIM’s exposure to global renewable energy infrastructure and its partnership with an experienced developer and investment manager in the sector.
