Application
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in Taiwan officially closed the application window on September 30 for Round 3.3 of Taiwan’s Offshore Wind Zonal Development.
The bidding ended with two international developers submitting applications for two wind farm projects: Ørsted’s Dadu 1 and CIP Fengmiao 3 Wind farms selected under this round are slated to achieve grid connection between 2030 and 2031.
Ørsted stated that its submission complies fully with the Directions for Offshore Wind Zonal Development Capacity Allocation.
The developer highlighted that its proposal features mature technical capabilities, commercial viability, and pragmatic ESG commitments. Drawing upon its experience in installing nearly 2 GW of offshore wind capacity in Taiwan, Ørsted aims to apply its expertise to the Dadu 1 wind farm, further supporting Taiwanese industries in reducing carbon emissions and accelerating the transition toward net-zero targets.
CIP announced it submitted its bid for the Fengmiao 3 offshore wind farm yesterday morning, marking the firm’s fifth participation in Taiwan’s offshore wind auctions. CIP noted that over its nine years of operations in Taiwan, it has developed and constructed four wind farms spanning Phase 2 Potential Sites and Phase 3 Zonal Development.
By leveraging long-standing partnerships with local authorities, supply chains, and financial and insurance sectors, CIP expressed strong confidence in its proposal and project execution.
