Topsides Modules

SBM Offshore has awarded a contract worth between US$239 million and US$313 million to Bomesc Offshore Engineering, a Chinese offshore fabricator.

The contract covers the construction of topsides modules for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be deployed in South America.

Construction is expected to take place at Bomesc’s Tianjin fabrication facility in China, with completion scheduled for the second half of 2028.

Bomesc added that the current estimated contract value comprises a fixed and variable component based on the expected scope of work, and that the final contract value will be determined based on the actual scope of work confirmed by both parties upon completion of the contract.

Bomesc is already fabricating nine topsides modules for SBM Offshore’s Gran Morgu FPSO, which is to be deployed in Suriname with delivery scheduled for January next year.
