Final wind turbine goes up for OWF targeted by Trump

Friday, September 18 2026

USA

Construction crews have installed the final turbine at Revolution Wind.

This is the $5-billion-plus offshore wind farm in Rhode Island Sound that drew national attention after the Trump administration tried without success to shut it down.

Ørsted, the Danish wind giant that is partnering on the 704-megawatt project with Skyborn Renewables, confirmed on Sept. 17 that all 65 turbines are now in place at the project nearing completion about 15 miles south of Little Compton.

“Commissioning activities continue across the project, with safety as the top priority,” the company said. “Revolution Wind continues to progress toward an anticipated commercial operation date later this year.”
