BNP Paribas supports Skyborn Renewables for Gennaker OWF

Tuesday, September 15 2026

Finance

BNP Paribas is proud to support Skyborn Renewables on the circa €2.1 billion greenfield financing of Gennaker, a 976.5 MW offshore wind farm in Germany.

Upon completion, expected at the end of 2028, the wind farm will become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.

The financing for Skyborn, a leading European offshore wind developer, is the largest offshore wind financing with pure commercial offtake in Europe, including the largest corporate Power Purchase Agreement in Germany, and was arranged through a syndicate of banks alongside the European Investment Bank.

BNP Paribas acted as Mandated Lead Arranger and pre-hedging bank on the transaction through its BNPPRealAssets and BNPPLowCarbonTransitionGroup teams, underscoring our commitment to supporting Europe’s energy transition and offshore wind infrastructure.
