Decommissioning
The TetraSpar Demonstrator has been disconnected from its moorings at the MET Centre off the coast of Karmøy.

The Demonstrator has been towed to Hanøytangen, near Bergen.
After five years offshore, the decommissioning phase is now complete.
The next step is to prepare the unit for operations at the Semco Maritime yard, where the turbine will be removed and the substructure decommissioned.
Engineers will have access to data from components that spent five years submerged in real North Sea conditions. Stiesdal’s phrase, ‘design assumptions meeting physical evidence’, is an apt one.
