Converter Platform
HFG’s yard in Vlissingen has reached a milestone in constructing the first jacket for TenneT’s new generation of 2 gigawatt (2GW) offshore converter platforms.

During the first ‘roll-up’ on 24 August, a steel structure weighing approximately 1,700 tonnes was lifted from horizontal to vertical. With this operation completed, the jacket for the IJmuiden Ver Beta offshore converter platform is increasingly taking shape.
Two large cranes lifted the structure and carefully brought it into its vertical position.
The section forms half of one of the two towers that will make up the IJmuiden Ver Beta jacket.
