Belgian marine engineering group DEME has reported a strong first half of 2026, posting record net profit and raising its full-year guidance as robust activity across Offshore Energy and Dredging & Infra continued to support performance.

Group turnover reached €2.2 billion in the first six months of the year, up 2% from €2.1 billion in the same period of 2025. EBITDA remained strong at €466 million, representing a margin of 21.6%, while net profit increased 20% to a record €215 million, up from €179 million a year earlier.
The results mark the fourth consecutive half-year period in which DEME generated more than €2 billion in turnover and over €400 million in EBITDA.
Offshore Energy was a major contributor, with revenue increasing 6% to a record first-half level of €1.2 billion. Growth was driven by ongoing project execution in the United States, Taiwan and Europe. The division achieved an EBITDA margin of 26.7%.
Dredging & Infra recorded 2% revenue growth, supported by maintenance and capital dredging projects around the world as well as major European infrastructure works. Its EBITDA margin improved to 22.0%, representing a significant improvement compared with the first half of 2025.
Environmental activities reported an 8% decline in revenue year-on-year, although DEME said the segment continued to make progress on long-term projects, particularly in Belgium and the Netherlands.
DEME ended the period with an order book of €7.1 billion. Although below levels seen in previous quarters as projects were converted into revenue, the company described the backlog as robust and reflective of continued demand in its core markets.
DEME also continued to invest heavily in its fleet during the first half, with total investments reaching €227 million, up from €141 million a year earlier.
Despite geopolitical uncertainty and delays to offshore renewable energy auctions in recent years, DEME remains positive about the sector’s longer-term prospects.
Looking ahead to 2027, the group expects to maintain strong profitability through disciplined project selection, profitable volumes and operational performance.
