Santos Basin
The Tupi asset, in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin, has reached cumulative production of 4 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe).

The first pre-salt system to begin commercial production, in 2010, it required the development of a new exploration model and pioneering technologies.
The milestone coincides with Petrobras’ 20 years of operations in the area.
This year, the asset also once again exceeded an average production of 1 million barrels of oil per day (bpd), a level first achieved in 2019.
The pre-salt is currently the company’s main source of production. According to the company’s 2026–30 Business Plan, the area could account for up to 82% of the company’s total production during this period.
Total oil and gas production projected through 2030 is estimated at between 3.1 and 3.4 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. The plan provides for an increase in the oil and gas production curve through the management and maximisation of reservoir potential, improved production efficiency, increased water injection efficiency, and the mapping of new opportunities.
Of the 57 production platforms operated by Petrobras, 28 are located exclusively in the pre-salt area, which, in January 2025, reached cumulative production of 7 billion barrels of oil.
